Staying in Uçhisar: the 19 hotels and what the village offers

What the village offers

Uçhisar lies on the road between Nevşehir and Göreme, on higher ground, around a rock castle that is the highest point in the region; the climb is by steps, and the Uçhisar Castle guide covers it. Pigeon Valley runs between the village and Göreme, a walk described in the Pigeon Valley guide. The hotel records show how much of that is in sight: Kale Konak Cappadocia has a terrace restaurant looking over Pigeon Valley, and Karlık Cave Suite lists views of Güvercinlik Valley and Mount Erciyes.

On the practical side, 8 of the 19 tick a balloon view and 3 a valley view, 7 tick a restaurant, 12 parking and 4 an airport transfer. Uçhisar or Göreme?

Uçhisar is smaller and quieter by the numbers: 19 hotels against Göreme’s 43, and a balloon-view share of 42% against 63%. Göreme is closer to the museum and the launch fields; Uçhisar to the castle and the valley path.
