Four of the 80 hotels in our catalogue carry an age rule in their name, and all four are in Göreme: Henna Hotel (Adults Only), Artemis Cave Suites & Spa (Adults Only), Aza Cave Hotel (+12 Adults Only) and Zara Cave Hotel +10. No other record, in Göreme or anywhere else, states an age policy. The records do not define the age, so “adults”, “+12” and “+10” are all questions for the hotel. This guide sets the four side by side, says what the names do and do not tell you, and names the hotels with ten rooms or fewer for readers who want a calm stay without a formal rule. It has no prices and no reviews.

None of the four ticks parking, so ask how a car is handled in each case. Streets in the village can be narrow.
What the names do and do not say
“Adults Only” appears in the names of Henna, Artemis and Aza. Artemis’s record adds, “as the name states, the hotel takes adult guests only”, and Aza’s says the hotel is adults only. Henna’s record does not repeat it, so the name is the only statement.
“+12” in Aza’s name sits next to “Adults Only”. The record does not say whether it means a minimum age of 12 or something else. “+10” in Zara’s name carries no wording at all, and the hotel ticks family rooms. A minimum age is the likely reading in both cases, and the two are not the same rule. None of the four records says what age counts as an adult, whether older teenagers are welcome, or whether the rule covers the restaurant, the spa or the terrace.
So ask in writing: what is the minimum age, does it apply to the whole property, and what happens if a group includes a 15-year-old? Keep the answer with your booking.
One by one
Henna Hotel (Adults Only) is a former guesthouse in central Göreme that reopened after a three-year renovation. Its rooms are about 400 years old and follow the regional style, and it lists a restaurant, a wake-up service and breakfast served at the table.
Artemis Cave Suites & Spa (Adults Only) combines renovated cave rooms that are centuries old with stone suites in the Old Cappadocian style. It has an underground hamam and spa, a rooftop restaurant and bar, and a 24-hour reception.
Aza Cave Hotel (+12 Adults Only) is the largest of the four, with 30 rooms. It lists two restaurants, one of them Japanese, a spa with massage treatments, a seasonal outdoor pool and bicycle rental, and the Göreme Roman Castle is a short walk away.
Zara Cave Hotel +10 has 17 rooms, terraces facing the balloons, an in-house professional photographer and an agency that arranges balloon tours and VIP transfers. The Open-Air Museum is about 1.4 km away. For the facilities of the first three, see the spa and hamam guide.
If you want calm without an age rule
An age rule is one way to a quieter stay, and the catalogue has no noise data to say whether it works. What it does have is hotel size. Twelve records give 10 rooms or fewer: Eka Cave Maison (5), The Calypso Cave (7), Leda Stone House and My Story Cave Hotel (8 each), Kayata Cave Suites, Logos Cave Cappadocia and Simera In Cappadocia (9 each), and Aja Cappadocia Hotel, Cave Art Cappadocia, Koza Cave Hotel, Naif Hotel and Taşkonak Cave House (10 each). A small hotel has fewer guests, which is not the same as being quiet. Only 3 of the 12 (Kayata, Aja and Cave Art) list family rooms. For couples, see the honeymoon hotel guide, but note that a honeymoon concept is not an age rule: 9 of the 11 hotels that tick it also list family rooms.
If you are travelling with children, the other side of the question is in family rooms in Cappadocia.
Questions to ask
- What is the minimum age, and does the rule cover the whole property?
- Are there exceptions, for example older teenagers?
- Is the terrace, restaurant or spa shared with day visitors?
- How do we reach the hotel with a car, and where do we park?
- Which room faces the balloons? See the checklist.
Where to stay
Artemis Cave Suites & Spa (Adults Only) suits those who want a hamam and a rooftop bar in the same building. Questions answered in this article
Which Cappadocia hotels are adults only?
Three in our catalogue say so in their name: Henna Hotel (Adults Only), Artemis Cave Suites & Spa (Adults Only) and Aza Cave Hotel (+12 Adults Only). A fourth, Zara Cave Hotel +10, carries an age number. All four are in Göreme.
What does +12 or +10 mean?
The records do not explain it. Aza Cave Hotel (+12 Adults Only) says it is adults only, and Zara Cave Hotel +10 lists family rooms. A minimum age is the likely reading, but ask the hotel which age applies and to whom.
Are there adults-only hotels outside Göreme?
Not by name or by record: none of the 37 hotels in Uçhisar, Ürgüp, Çavuşin, Ortahisar or Mustafapaşa states an age policy. That does not mean they accept children, so ask.
Is a honeymoon hotel adults only?
No. 9 of the 11 hotels that tick a honeymoon concept also tick family rooms. The tick describes a concept, not an age rule.
Is an adults-only hotel quiet?
The records contain no noise information, so we cannot say. An age rule changes who stays; it does not tell you about walls, terraces or street noise.
