20 of the 80 hotels in our catalogue tick a spa, a hamam or a hot tub: 12 tick a spa, 7 a hamam and 7 a hot tub or jacuzzi. The three overlap little, since only 5 hotels tick both a spa and a hamam and only one ticks a spa and a hot tub. By ticks, 10 are in Göreme, 8 in Uçhisar and 2 in Mustafapaşa, and seven more records describe a facility in their text only, which makes 27 in all. This guide sorts the three words apart, lists the 20 by town and picks out the hotels with a hot tub or jacuzzi in the room. The records give no opening hours, treatment lists or prices, and this guide gives none either.
Three words, three different things
A hamam is a heated bathing room where you sweat, are scrubbed and washed, and rest; the hamam guide walks through a visit and its etiquette. A spa is a broader word that can mean massage, a sauna, a pool or a treatment room. A hot tub or jacuzzi is a tub with jets or heated water, in a room, on a terrace or shared. A tick for one tells you nothing about the others, so read the line beneath it.

Seven more in the text
Seven records describe a facility without the matching tick: Heybe Hotel & Spa (Göreme) names a Turkish bath spa centre and an indoor pool; Sultan Cave Suites (Göreme) names a spa with massages; Hidden Cave Hotel (Göreme) says some rooms have jacuzzis; Karlık Evi Cappadocia (Uçhisar) has a valley-facing jacuzzi available by candlelight; Kayata Cave Suites (Ürgüp) lists indoor private hot tubs; Eka Cave Maison (Ürgüp) has heated black water pools inside its private rooms; and Azure Cave Suites (Çavuşin) offers jacuzzi suites as one room type. The Calypso Cave in Ürgüp also lists jetted tubs in its private bathrooms, which we do not count.
A tub in the room
If a private soak is the point, these records are the specific ones:
- Konak Bezirhane Cave Otel puts a private bathroom and jacuzzi in each of its 23 rooms.
- Simera In Cappadocia has six jacuzzi suites and three rooms of another type.
- Leda Stone House lists jacuzzis among the room features of its 8 rooms.
- Kayata Cave Suites has indoor private hot tubs, jetted bathtubs and heated floors.
- Azure Cave Suites offers jacuzzi suites alongside double, twin and fireplace suites.
- Eka Cave Maison has heated pools in its 5 private rooms.
For couples, see the honeymoon hotel guide; of the records above, only Kayata Cave Suites and Azure Cave Suites tick a honeymoon concept.
Choosing by what you want
- A traditional hamam: Artemis Cave Suites & Spa (Adults Only), Aydınlı Cave Hotel, Kelebek Cave Hotel and Secret Hill Cave Suites in Göreme; Kale Konak Cappadocia, The Kingdom of Cappadocia - Luxury Hotel and Uçhisar Palace In Cappadocia in Uçhisar.
- Massage or treatments: Aza Cave Hotel and Sultan Cave Suites both name massage in their records, and Kelebek lists a full-service spa. Treatment menus are not recorded for any of them.
- A hot tub with a view: The Niche Cave Hotel’s terrace tub faces the sunrise balloons, and Karlık Evi’s jacuzzi faces the valley.
- Warm water indoors: Heybe Hotel & Spa and Yılkı Cave Suites both list an indoor pool, which matters in the cold months.
- Travelling with a pet: Kale Konak Cappadocia, Kilim Pansiyon and Simera In Cappadocia are among the 8 pet-friendly hotels; ask whether pets are allowed near the spa areas.
What the records do not say
None of the records gives hours, treatment lists, prices, or whether a hamam or hot tub is private or shared. None says whether the spa is for guests only. The Turkish bath tradition is a matter of etiquette as much as facilities, so ask who will be there and who attends you. A booking message that asks four things (what is in the spa, is it private, does it need booking, can I use it on arrival day) saves most surprises.
Health, season and what to ask
Heat is the point of a hamam and also the risk: take care, or ask a doctor, in pregnancy or with a heart or blood-pressure condition, and leave the hot room if you feel dizzy. The hamam guide has the full list. Wellness facilities earn their keep in winter, when balloons fly on only a third of days; see Cappadocia in winter. When you write to a hotel, ask what the spa contains, whether treatments need booking, whether the hamam is private or shared, and whether non-guests can use it. Pools are covered in hotels with a pool.
Where to stay
Simera In Cappadocia, pictured above, has nine rooms, six of them jacuzzi suites, a terrace for the morning balloons, an airport transfer and a pet-friendly policy. Kelebek Cave Hotel combines spa, sauna, hamam and a seasonal pool. Artemis Cave Suites & Spa (Adults Only) has the underground hamam. Konak Bezirhane Cave Otel gives each of its 23 rooms a jacuzzi. After choosing, you can book through gocappadocia.com, the regional booking platform created through the combined efforts of 175 Cappadocia hoteliers, with a best-price guarantee; this guide takes no commission. All records are on the hotel list.
