Cappadocia hotels with a pool: the 13 in the catalogue

13 of the 80 hotels in our catalogue tick a swimming pool: 11 in Göreme and 2 in Uçhisar, and none in Ürgüp, Çavuşin, Ortahisar or Mustafapaşa. Six of the 13 say the pool is seasonal, none gives opening dates, and only two of the 13 also tick family rooms. This guide lists the 13 by town with what each record says, adds the two further records that mention a pool and covers what to ask before you plan a swim. It gives no prices, pool sizes or depths, because the records hold none.

“n/a” means the record gives no room count. The seasonal six are Aza, Göreme Cave Lodge, Göreme Cave Suites, Kelebek, Secret Hill and Soho. The other seven say nothing about the season (Heybe’s pool is indoor), and for Doors of Cappadocia, Karlık Evi and The Kingdom the record simply lists a pool; do not read that as year-round.

Where in Göreme

Seven of the 11 Göreme pools are in the Aydınlı area, counting its three spellings in the records, Aydınlı, Aydınlı-Orta and Aydınlı Orta: Aza, Doors of Cappadocia, Göreme Cave Lodge, Göreme Cave Suites, Heybe, Kelebek and Soho. Two are in Gaferli (Local Cave House and Zemi Hotel Cappadocia), one in Avcılar (Carus Cappadocia) and one in the Isalı-Gaferli-Avcılar quarter (Secret Hill Cave Suites). Pools are more common in Göreme (11 of 43 hotels) than in Uçhisar (2 of 19). They are not a feature of the cave category as such: 8 of the 13 are cave-category hotels, 4 are listed as small hotels and one as a luxury hotel. Two more records that mention a pool

• Yılkı Cave Suites (Mustafapaşa) ticks an “Indoor pool”, alongside a spa, a hot tub and a restaurant. It is the only pool ticked in the Ürgüp district (Ürgüp, Mustafapaşa and Ortahisar).
• Sultan Cave Suites (Göreme, 30 rooms) names a seasonal outdoor pool and a spa with massages in its highlights, though its amenity list carries neither tick.

Counting both, 15 records mention a pool. The headline figure stays 13, since that is the tick.

Pools worth knowing about

• Local Cave House (Gaferli, 12 rooms) stands among seven fairy chimneys. Its rooms are heated and air-conditioned, the pool is cut straight into the rock and the breakfast is homemade; the town centre and the museum are within walking distance.
• Zemi Hotel Cappadocia (Gaferli) is described as the only 4-star hotel in Göreme town, about 300 m from the Open-Air Museum, with an outdoor pool for adults and children and a spa.
• Kelebek Cave Hotel (Aydınlı, 36 rooms) lists a full-service spa with sauna, a hamam, a seasonal outdoor pool and balloon-view terraces; Love Valley is 1.7 km away.
• Heybe Hotel & Spa (Aydınlı-Orta, 33 rooms) has an indoor pool and a Turkish bath spa centre in a three-storey building in the middle of town. Breakfast is a paid extra.
• Karlık Evi Cappadocia (Uçhisar, 25 rooms) has individually decorated rooms, a pool, a restaurant and a valley-facing jacuzzi that can be used by candlelight.

Seasonal means ask

Six records say seasonal outright and the rest say nothing, so the question belongs in your booking message: is the pool open on my dates, is it heated, and are there any hours? For a sense of swimming weather, the average high in Nevşehir is 24.9 °C in June, 28.5 °C in July, 28.7 °C in August and 24.5 °C in September, against 20.6 °C in May and 18.3 °C in October (MGM, 1959–2025). Evenings cool quickly; the average low in July is 13.7 °C. Those figures describe the air, not the water, and they say nothing about when any hotel opens its pool. Questions to put to the hotel

The records answer none of these, so write them into your booking message:

• Is the pool open on my dates, and is it heated?
• What are its hours, and is it shared with other guests or other properties?
• Is there a shallow area, a depth marking or fencing for children?
• Is there shade, and are loungers and towels provided?
• Is the pool bar open in the evening, and how loud does it get near the rooms?
• Can people who are not staying at the hotel use it?

Families, spa and adults only

Two of the 13 also tick family rooms: Kelebek Cave Hotel, whose pool is seasonal, and Local Cave House, whose pool is cut into the rock. Zemi Hotel Cappadocia says its outdoor pool is open to adults and children, though its record does not tick family rooms. No record mentions depth, fencing, a children’s pool or a lifeguard, so ask.
