38 of the 80 hotels tick a balloon view: 27 in Göreme, 8 in Uçhisar, 3 in Çavuşin. What each record says about terrace, room or property, and how often balloons fly.

38 of the 80 hotels in our catalogue tick a balloon view: 27 in Göreme, 8 in Uçhisar and 3 in Çavuşin. The number is smaller than it sounds as a count of terraces, because only 14 of the 38 records name a terrace or rooftop, 2 name the rooms and the other 22 say only that balloons can be seen from the property. This guide lists the 38 by town with what each record says, adds the 14 hotels that mention balloons only in their text and explains why a view depends as much on the flights as on the hotel. It gives no prices, distances to launch fields or sunrise times, because the records hold none.
A tick is not a terrace
The amenity list gives a yes or no. The text underneath is where you learn more, and it says three different things:
- Rooftop or terrace (14 hotels). The record ties the view to a terrace, rooftop or restaurant roof. Koza Cave Hotel keeps its rooftop for guests in the mornings, so the view is not shared with outside visitors.
- Rooms (2 hotels). Azure Cave Suites lists balloon views from rooms and terrace, and Karlık Evi Cappadocia says its rooms overlook the sunrise launches.
- The property (22 hotels). The record says balloons can be seen from the property, or lists “balloon and valley views”, and stops there. Juno Cappadocia notes that the two views are listed separately and that it is worth asking which rooms face them. That is good advice for all 22.
So ask three things: is the view from my room type, from a shared terrace, or from the property in general, and is the terrace open to the public at dawn?
Balloons do not fly every morning
A view only exists on mornings when balloons fly. In the day-by-day record (1 January 2025 – 2 August 2026, the date at which our flight calendar ends) they flew on 340 of 579 days (59%): on 81% of summer days and 34% of winter days. A terrace in July is a good bet; one in February is a hope. Give a winter stay 4 or 5 nights if the view matters, and see when balloons fly. Uçhisar (8), mostly Tekelli. Simera In Cappadocia names a terrace for watching the balloons each morning, and Karlık Evi Cappadocia names its rooms. Cappadocia Fairy Chimneys Selfie Cave Hotels, Juno Cappadocia, Kilim Pansiyon, The Kingdom of Cappadocia - Luxury Hotel and Wings Cappadocia in Tekelli, and Vigor Cappadocia (ex Elite Cave) in Aşağı, say only that balloons are in view.
Çavuşin (3). Azure Cave Suites names its rooms and terrace; Atax Cave House, which serves breakfast on its terrace, and Seki Cave Hotel say balloons are visible from the property.
The 14 that mention balloons without the tick
These records say “balloon views” in their text but do not tick it. In Göreme: Artemis Cave Suites & Spa (Adults Only) (terraces at sunrise), Cappadocia Cave Suites, Castle Cave Hotel, Doors of Cappadocia, Grand Cave Suites, Henna Hotel (Adults Only), Mithra Cave Cappadocia and Secret Hill Cave Suites (terrace and garden). In Uçhisar: Chiaro Cappadocia, Flavia Cappadocia Hotel, Kale Konak Cappadocia (rooms), Karlık Cave Suite and Uçhisar Palace In Cappadocia. In Mustafapaşa: Cave Art Cappadocia. Count them and the total is 52 of 80.

Arrive the evening before
Check-in is from 14:00 at 75 of the 80 hotels, and several records say so outright: Caftan Cave Suites, Carus Cappadocia, Divan Cave House and The Niche Cave Hotel advise arriving the evening before a morning flight. 13 of the 38 also list a wake-up service.
